What is home working?
This is an emergency measure with two aims:
- To ensure the continuity of Monegasque business activities
- To limit the risks of spreading COVID−19
Home working is a temporary measure.
It was authorised on an exceptional basis in a Minister of State decision published in the Journal de Monaco on Friday 13 March 2020.
This emergency measure will come to an end once the health crisis has passed.
Who is affected?

| Employers in the public sector | Civil servants and other Government or Commune officials | Principality of Monaco, France, Italy |
Employees who are off sick are excluded from the home working measures.
Who makes the decision?
Employers will decide how this is to be organised within the company:
- Which posts and which days (all or part of the week)
- Employees can ask their employers if they can work from home but cannot demand it
- Employees must consent to working from home
How does it work?
Employers is responsible for all the procedures involved in introducing home working.
What about salaries?
When working from home, employees receive their normal salaries.
For how long?
This exceptional measure entered into force on Friday 13 March 2020. It will be lifted by a Minister of State decision once the current health situation is over.
Employers can introduce home working for part or all of the period authorised by the exceptional measure.
