Designed to support the building and construction sector in the Principality, the White Fund (alongside major structural works) illustrates the Government’s determination to improve everyday quality of life for all Monegasques, whether civil servants or residents of state-owned housing, and to highlight the need to preserve the nation’s heritage. The Fund has a pot of €20 million and will be used at State level, including through an increase in:
- The balancing threshold, thus an increase in the number of public works contracts awarded directly for businesses in category A
- Budgets allocated by the State Property Authority to maintenance and renovation of state-owned housing and to use of office space by Monegasque companies
- Budgets allocated to the Public Buildings Maintenance Office for work carried out by Monegasque companies to improve and extend state-owned buildings for public use
A subsidy can also be paid to individuals and some businesses for work carried out by Monegasque companies.
The idea is to offer financial support for alterations in people’s homes, as follows:
- 20% of the cost of work, capped at €2,000, for those over 65
- 20% of the cost of work, capped at €1,500 per home, for those under 65
