Principe et conditions
An internship is a period of practical training as part of a study programme. It provides students with an opportunity to put into practice the theoretical knowledge taught in class, and allows them to gain genuine work experience.
For mandatory internships, an internship agreement is established, and the intern retains their status as a pupil or student throughout the training period. In accordance with Circular letter no. 07.03 of 26 February 2007 pertaining to internships in companies, published in the Journal de Monaco dated 16 March 2007, the Employment Office must be notified when a company is hosting an intern.
In the case of non-mandatory internships, the intern is considered to be an employee and the host company is subject to the regulations on recruiting employees: consult the procedure "How to recruit staff ".
For further information, consult the factsheet: "Internships ".
Establishing an internship agreement
The educational establishment must send you an internship agreement, which both you and the intern should check and sign.
Collating the documents
In addition to a copy of the internship agreement, you will need to provide:
- A copy of the intern’s identification in the case of European Economic Area nationals
- A copy of the intern’s Monegasque or French residence permit in the case of non- European Economic Area nationals
