Principle and conditions

Private hire vehicles driven by foreign chauffeurs must obtain prior authorisation from the Commissioner of Police Department, before carrying passengers and their luggage in the Principality.

Once authorised, vehicle operators will be granted a unique, non-transferrable tax sticker for each vehicle.

This sticker, which is issued by the Commissioner of Police Department must be affixed to the inside of the vehicle, with the front visible from the outside, on the lower right corner of the windscreen.

In order for a company to be eligible to purchase a tax sticker, it must provide proof:

  • That it has no police record with the Police Department of Monaco
  • That it has, for at least two years (between 2017 and 2020, including 2020, with regard to the 2021 tax sticker), acquired at least one tax sticker
  • Of the legal existence of the activity carried out by the applicant for at least 3 years

The fees for 2021 are €750 for an annual sticker, €600 for the third sticker.
