How to apply for a pledge or security to be deregistered

Principle and conditions
Applications to deregister a pledge may only be made by the creditor who registered the pledge initially, and within a period of five years following registration. Pledges are automatically deregistered after five years.

Formulating the request
The request must be sent to the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Office using the appropriate form, duly completed and signed.
The form may be:

- Collected from the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Office
Collating the documents
The request for application to deregister a pledge must be accompanied by the payment, to be made by cash, cheque or postal order (clearable in Monaco or France), made out to the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Office and Visa or Mastercard bank cards only, in accordance with the current fee schedule.
Submitting the application
You should submit the complete application without appointment to the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Office, or may be sent by post. A payment receipt will be issued.
Application to deregister a pledge takes effect as soon as it is recorded by the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Office.
Collecting the document
An acknowledgement that the pledge has been deregistered will be available within 72 hours of receipt of the application, from the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Office reception desk, on presentation of the payment receipt. The acknowledgement can also be sent by post if the application is received by post.
