Principle and conditions
You must request authorisation to have your car scrapped, whether voluntarily or if it has been written off following an accident.
There is a fee associated with this service - Please see STC - Tarifs 2021 en vigueur

Formulating the request
The request must be sent to the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Office using the appropriate form, duly completed and signed.
The form may be:
- Downloaded online:
Application to scrap a vehicle (STC021) (385-0022_01-2019)
- Collected from the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Office

Collating the documents
The requests must be accompanied by the following documents:
- The original copy of the registration certificate
- The registration plates
- If applicable, if your vehicle has been written off following an accident, a statement from the assessor to this effect
- The payment, to be made by cash, cheque or postal order (clearable in Monaco or France), made out to the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Office and Visa or Mastercard bank cards only, in accordance with the current fee schedule

Submitting the application
You should submit the complete application without appointment to the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Office. A receipt for payment will be issued.

Collecting the document
The certificate for destruction is available within 72 hours of receipt of the file, at the reception desk of the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Office on presentation of the payment receipt.

Retourner le document complété
Le certificat pour destruction devra ensuite être retourné au Service des Titres de Circulation dûment complété et revêtu du cachet du Centre agréé VHU qui aura procédé à la destruction.
Dans l’éventualité où le certificat et les plaques d’immatriculation non préalablement restitués au Service des Titres de Circulation seraient conservés par le Centre agréé VHU, une attestation de ce dernier l’attestant devra être également présentée.
